Super fun! Went on an adventure across the state, up to Burlington to pick up a friend, & cruise to Vancouver, BC for UFC Fight Night action.
The drive was nice, w/ good weather all morning on this side of the mountains.
By the time I made it to Skagit County, sprinkles were falling, & when we made it to BC it was raining.
Once we made it to the correct arena (they’re adjacent), we walked inside to see the conclusion of a prelim fight on a TV. Yea! We got food & drinks & found our most excellent seats.
Household name Drew Dober brutalized his opponent’s groin, claiming victory.
Despite boos, Dober handled himself well & always brings entertainment & violence. Awesome seeing Cormier octagon-side, along w/ Felder & Fitzgerald. We even caught Megan Olivi, nice!
Worldwide famous people competed a short distance away, prompting me to declare it in fact is a small world, & how much fun it is being there.
Holland also received groin-maltreatment, utilizing an entire 5-minute time-out to recover, & barely made it. Malott persisted for the win & basked in his fellow-Canadian crowd.
The main event brought out some high-profile coaches in Belal Muhammad on Allen’s side.
And Hall-of-Famer Robbie Lawler on de Ridder’s side. Whoa!
Once the fights ended we wandered over to the commentator’s desk, getting a peep into the magic.
My third UFC at Roger’s Arena, 4th overall (1st was in Vegas, GSP vs Penn, whew).
Homeboys kickin’ it, old good friends, total blast.
