2 local quail decided, at the last second, to run — rather than fly, across a street w/ 1-way traffic, barely evading tires.
As if a game, one ran first, making it (just barely), while the other retreated back to the sidewalk. As my vehicle approached, quail 2 made its go, running just moments before; thankfully making it clean.
So that’s good! Quail play dangerous games sometimes, probably for the glory.
