My go-to as a red-headed, fair-skinned chap, is to [take a shower then] apply aloe vera gel [the clear stuff, works good], & give it a good rest, drinking plenty of fresh water. It clears up in just a few days… 🙏
Otherwise, shade is a good preventative, as much as possible, as even through gray clouds it hits ya, evident when you return to fro & feel the burn… 😬 Skins a’sensitive. Sun-screen works of course, when applied correctly [that is, covering all parts]. Self-applied [back] can lead to streaks, & remember feet & back of knees. Hats are a clever choice, & shirts are a guarantee, the lighter the better. ☀️
