An “atmospheric river” has brought w/ it heat, rain, & wind, & most noticeably, mountain ranges of melting snow, turning ski resorts into summery grasslands within a couple days, creating torrential rivers causing havoc… This morning was the predicted peak, so we can be grateful as waters recede, for me only seen via social media, as I’ve yet to get down to the Columbia or see the murky & tree-laden Wenatchee River flowing into it. 🙏 Gratefully, locally, we have fared well.
Cities & towns throughout Washington had partial-to-full evacuations go out, as footage of 3/4-covered structures made their passings across Facebook, etc. Some lucked out of course, & workers & helpers were busy doing parts plentifully, as other wildhearted kayakers took to the opportune challenge, garnering scoffs & ridicule, & stern admonishments, w/ hopeful triumph all said.
As we near Christmas & the solstice, new year, & true seasonal winter, we can only pray for grace & mercy as people piece what they can where affected. ❤️🩹
